Summary of the 18th edition of the European Forum on Electronic Signature and Trust Services (EFPE 2018)

On 6-7 June 2018, Szczecin hosted the XVIII edition of the European Electronic Signature and Trust Services Forum (EFPE 2018). This year’s edition of the forum has been covered by the Honorary Patrons of the following institutions:

  • the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI),
  • Honorary Patronage of the Mayor of Szczecin,
  • the Ministry of Digitization (MC),
  • Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (PIIT),
  • Polish Committee for Standardization (PKN).

EFPE is the largest international conference in Europe devoted to electronic services of trust and security, which has already permanently inscribed in the calendar of meetings of people associated with this subject – both theoreticians and practitioners. Although from year to year, based on global trends, discussions are more and more focused on issues related to the practical use of electronic identification solutions and security and trust tools.

This year’s conference was attended by over 140 people from 16 countries, including: Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, Iran, Kazakhstan, Norway, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine, the USA, Hungary, and Great Britain and Italy. Participants represented various environments – from the world of science through public organizations to business and banking.

The motto of this year’s edition was:

The universality of e-identification and trust services in the cloud
– digital market available to everyone.

On the forum and backstages, the use of services has been increasingly discusses e-identification and trust in everyday life, but also about the benefits flowing from the implementation of these services in document circulation systems, in electronic banking and telecommunications services. During both days of the conference, 18 presentations were given and three debates were held.

  • send marketing information by means of electronic communication and automation programs pursuant to the Act of July 18, 2002 on the provision of services by electronic means and in connection with Article 172(1) of the Act of July 16, 2004 on Telecommunications Law pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data as well as repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (Official Journal of the EU L. of 2016 No. 119, page 1)).

Transfers of personal data to third countries

Your personal data will be stored on servers located in the European Union; however, in connection with Asseco Data Systems S.A.‘s use of cloud solutions provided by Microsoft, they may be transferred — on the basis of standard data protection clauses — to a third country.
